Hi
Around 2006 or so my dear friend Aziz created a blog that tracked what he ate and how much he slept. He had an audience of one - his mother. I am hoping my mom subscribes.
Encouraged by a group chat experiment, I'll be sharing what I'm watching, reading, lifting, ingesting, buying, fixating on and/or struggling with every...week? Let's see how it goes. This will maybe look different as time goes on and I understand how to like, insert pictures. Like and subscribe!
Watching, Reading, Listening
Listen, she's in her romantasy era and she's unapologetic. I've been listening to the first ACOTAR book after reading the latest Sarah J. Maas release. Basically, it's clear that this woman is tying all her series together and now I have to (HAVE TO) go back and pick up the crumbs she left for us while we were all being dazzled by Tamlin/Tampon (IYKYK). Trying desperately to get into something else but nothing is sticking at the moment. Hoping a cozy mystery from P.D. James will do the trick.
I've been watching Mr. and Mrs. Smith which is...good, I think. I didn't watch Atlanta so that's on me but Donald Glover can sure run a show. Seeing Michaela Cole, even briefly, was worth the time investment. It's hard not to imagine what it would have been with Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Glover has put a reasonable story out there to why it didn't work (though I'm curious to hear Phoebe's version).
The 8 year old is really into Miley Cyrus so "Used to be Young" is the song in my head when I'm changing sleep positions at 3:30am.
Lifting
Back to the gym this week in earnest after an unanticipated break so really just lifting a 3 year old and mediocre French pastries from a new bakery on 5th Ave in Park Slope.
Ingesting
Above mentioned mediocre pastries, our usuals from Authentic Szechuan (sesame noodles, cold cucumber, scallion pancakes, etc.), some delicious camembert, Girl Scout Cookies from Troop 6000, a lot of probiotics to offset the antibiotics from my second (?) round of strep this season, Papa Johns pizza, breadsticks and brownies for the girls and I so they understand their suburban heritage, 30mg Vyvanse, 100mg Sertraline.
Struggling
As some know, I was diagnosed with ADHD this past fall and am working on finding the right medications. I'm on day 2 of Vyvanse and feeling legitimately torn about whether I want it to work better for me than Concerta given the shortages. I'm scared I don't have the resilience to manage my symptoms if I have to go without it. Also, the Oscar fashions were incredibly boring.
Buying
Too much but these legit great Old Navy dresses that are a v-neck that doesn't make my boobs work inappropriate and/or a topic of conversation. More Girl Scout Cookies. The reviews on these jeans are astounding given how polarizing this cut looks to me. I ordered two sizes. Will report back. Finally, always, always, always more Garlic Expressions.
Creating
I've been attempting to paint more regularly. If I get the nerve, I'll post some work here. Also, again, this hinges on whether I learn how to insert pictures.
Fixating
On dead, wounded or orphaned children I can't fucking help and no one who can seems to want to.
Avoiding
The crack in our bedroom ceiling that's about to become an actual problem, calling my insurance, finding a camp for the 8 year old because I don't know if/when we're going to travel and also have you seen these prices jesus fucking christ.
Reader, I Pinned It
Art inspo, never not looking for a new sandalwood scent, So pretty. I love this company but these are unusually expensive for their stuff, heart eyes
Help?
How do I get my hair to do this and stay this way for a day, maybe two?
